Lifetime Achievement Award
Questex Hospitality Group is delighted to announce that Anders Nissen has been awarded with the Lifetime Achievement Award 2020.
Nissen has been CEO since Pandox’s inception, 25 years ago and, fortunately for both Pandox and the hotel industry, his first career ambition to become team captain of the Swedish national handball team, didn’t come to fruition. Read more about that, as well as Nissen’s thoughts on disruptors and what will define hotel investment in 2020, here. Pandox is one of Northern Europe’s leading hotel property owners. The portfolio comprises 156 hotels with approximately 35,000 hotel rooms in 15 countries. Currently, 85% of the hotels within the portfolio are leased and 15% owner-operated. Quoted as saying: “our beautiful, dynamic market called hospitality, is growing year on year”, Nissen is excited about the market development and enthusiastic about the future for the hotel and hospitality industry. Nissen is also be credited for his forward-thinking approach to sustainability saying that whilst Pandox has gradually put much more focus on sustainability, the business “is aiming for an even more active role in the industry’s development going forward.”
The ISHC Young Leader Award At IHIF
Davina Cisier, Director of Development Luxury Hotels for Accor will be presented the prestigious ISHC Young Leader Award at the International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF), a hospitality investment conference that hosts over 2500 senior figures from over 80 countries. New to the IHIF programme this year will be a generational discussion between the Young Leader Award winner and the IHIF Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. They will share their thoughts on successful hospitality strategies and their views of the future. Currently Davina is leading the growth of the Accor Luxury portfolio in Europe, which include the luxury and LifeStyle brands of the Group Accor: Banyan Tree, Raffles, Orient Express, Delano, Fairmont, SLS, So Sofitel, Sofitel, The House of Originals, Mondrian and Hyde. Most recently, she concluded the hotel agreements for the new Sofitel Taksim Istanbul, Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva as well as the future Fairmont Golden Prague, the SO/ Sotogrande and the Raffles London. The Young Leader Award was established by ISHC and IHIF in 2009 to recognise and celebrate the excellence of young emerging leaders in the hospitality industry. Respected CEOs from across the hotel industry reviewed a short list of nomination forms of outstanding candidates before voting on the winner.
