We asked a group of investors at our International Hospitality Investment Forum 2022 Advisory Board if this will be the year of opportunity for deployment of funds.
Jonathan Langston led the discussion and asked the panel where the opportunities lie.
"There is a wall of money out there, waiting to go into hotel real estate and the money has to go somewhere" said Andreas Locher of Union Investment Real Estate.
Laura Brinkmann added that "lenders have changed their view this year to a slightly more optimistic outlook on this asset class, margins have come down and the risk profile of your capital stack is more attractive to buyers."
"The opportunities lie in value-added deals" said Azora's Javier Arus to make the returns for both buyers and sellers.
