Meliá targets independents with conversion push

Meliá Hotels International wants to add more independent hotels to its growing network with the continued rollout of its new Affiliated by Meliá brand.

The company launched the concept in 2020 and this year has announced the addition of seven hotels in locations such as Spain, Malta and Greece.

“[W]ith everything that the industry is currently going through, the strength of our melia.com and MeliáPRO digital channels, together with our MeliáRewards loyalty programme, will allow independent hotels to enhance their sales capacity and respond to the emerging trends in digital consumption,” Gabriel Escarrer, Vice President and CEO of the company, said.
