Pandox CEO Anders Nissen has died after a short illness.

The hotel owner announced the news on 30 May, having previously said on 21 May that Nissen was undergoing treatment due to Covid-19. Chief financial officer Liia Nõu, will continue as acting CEO.

”We have today received the news of Anders Nissen sadly passing away. It is a great chock and an unmeasurable personal loss. There are not words enough to describe the sense of sadness and loss we are all feeling. Our thoughts are with Anders and his family,” Christian Ringnes, chairman of the board of directors of Pandox said.

“The board of directors is now forced to begin to search for a new CEO. During this process, Liia Nõu will continue as acting CEO and CFO. Anders Nissen leaves behind a strong and executive organisation in which the board of directors has strong confidence.”

Nissen has been in charge at Pandox since its inception in 1995. It property portfolio comprises 156 hotels with approximately 35,000 hotel rooms in 15 countries.
