John specialises in economics, strategy and financial markets. He is the author of The Saturday Economist, a weekly update on the UK and World Economy.
John also presents “The Saturday Economist Live”, a monthly TV round up live on Zoom, described as “fast moving, content rich and fun.”
Over the years, John has worked with First Boston, Bain & Co, Samuel Montagu and Goldman Sachs. His published strategy cases studies include Apple, Lego, Yahoo and Twitter.
John works with professional firms, large corporates and SMEs as a consultant, NED and advisor.

A regular conference host and presenter, in November last year, he was a guest of Gazprom in Moscow. The theme of the conference was “Meeting the challenge of digital disruption, what every business should know”.
John is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Companion of The British Institute of Management and a member of the Society of Professional Economists.
He was educated at the London School of Economics and London Business School with a PhD in economics from Manchester Metropolitan University.
