Karin Sheppard, SVP and managing director Europe at IHG Hotels and Resorts joined the Hospitality Insights team at IHIF 2022 to discuss the company's approach to leisure, the impact of ESG requirements and the needs of investors.
"I'm truly excited about the investor appetite to actually go into more leisure-focused destinations now. And and I think that is a trend that will stay with us," she said.
For IHG, that doesn't just mean high-end properties, economy and midscale brands like Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza are opening in touristic destinations like the French Riviera.
"Investors can see that actually, across the various demand classes, there is a need for new fresh leisure products and delivering the right experiences," she said.
