Expedia shares data with Sabre

Expedia has announced that key insights from its revenue performance product will be shared with select hospitality technology companies through a new API.

The Sabre SynXis’ platform is the first connectivity partner to integrate the revenue performance insights into their platform.

The API will make the insights from Rev+ available to platforms including property management systems and central reservation systems.

Vivek Bhogaraju, general manager, revenue performance solutions, lodging & vacation rental, Expedia Group, said: “According to Expedia Group research, 85% of lodging properties do not use revenue performance technology. Cost, complexity, and need for trained resources to manage traditional revenue management systems are a hurdle.”

Price optimisation alerts notify lodging partners when they could optimise rates. Market recovery insights highlight how the lodging partner’s market & submarket are recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the API provides access to competitive rate data that the partner can choose to customise.

Zuhairah Washington, SVP, strategic partners, Expedia Group, said: “As a result of Covid-19, historical data and patterns are less reliable to predict future demand trends and next best actions,” said This is especially true for revenue performance strategies. By providing real-time forward-looking demand and pricing alerts powered by Expedia Group data and machine learning capabilities, the Rev+ Insights API will help lodging partners build effective and informed revenue performance strategies and help them navigate the market uncertainties.”

“We know our hospitality partners are seeking every advantage to help navigate these uncertain times. By infusing Rev+ into Sabre’s trusted SynXis unified platform, we can deliver sharper insights to our clients for superior commercial performance,” said Scott Wilson, president, Sabre Hospitality Solutions.
