U.K.-based property development company Premcor is looking to build a 229-guestroom hotel on a Manchester plot originally earmarked for a residential development.
According to Place Northwest, the 10-story building would be adjacent to Create Developments’ Hampton by Hilton Manchester Northern Quarter, slated to open in November.
Premcor is reportedly “in advanced talks” with a hotel operator for the project and expects to complete the development by mid-2022.
“The city’s growth is creating a significant demand for hotel accommodation,” Premcor director Simon Hawkins told the paper. “We have worked hard with our team to do justice to the site, and look forward to delivering this development on a visible and underutilised site along Rochdale Road.”
