Norwegian investor Fredensborg seeks hotels in Spain

Norwegian real estate investment company Fredensborg group is said to be looking to invest in hotels in Spain, according to Spanish publication elEconomista.

The investment group is thought to have earmarked 500 million euros to invest in properties in the Balearic Islands (Mallorca in particular) and the Costa del Sol (Marbella and Estepona), although it wouldn’t rule out cities such as Madrid. Properties to be targeted would be in the 50 to 80 million euros range.

Fredensborg group specialises in residential real estate and holiday homes in Europe with a long-term view. In June 2020 it acquired 50% of the Spanish chain Servatur Hotels & Resorts, the fourth largest operator in the Canary Islands and main partner of Nordic tour operator Ving.

The company is thought to have appointed Alantra's investment banking division to lead the strategy.
