Alexi Khajavi, President of Questex Hospitality and Travel sat down with Desmond Taljaard, MD of L+R Hotels for a straight talking view of the market. Taljaard expresses an optimistic yet realisitc outlook for the sector, speaking of transactions by the L+R group as well as the pent up demand right now for investors. Referring to the US market in particular he says "we are very confident to deploy investment right now" and that quite simply "rumours of the demise of the sector are premature!"
Desmond reviews the practicality of the government incentivised quarantine hotels, reports positive hotel occupancy and tells us what keeps him awake at night.
