IHIF broadens ESG focus for 2023 event

The International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF) 2023 will host the ESG Hub, a space dedicated to environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues and explore the wider impact for investors when it returns to Berlin on 15-17 May.

Running alongside the main conference programme, the ESG Hub, delivered in partnership with the Energy and Environment Alliance (EEA) and sponsored by EEA, MindClick and Naked Energy, will play host to a number of lightning talks, thought-leadership case studies and product showcases borne out of the requirement for knowledge, products and services relating to ESG from investors, asset managers and operators.

Highlighted discussions to look out for on this subject include:

Greenprint: Building Environmentally Efficient Hospitality Properties – Tuesday 16 May 3:15pm

Aligning Owners and Operators’ Sustainability Strategies - Wednesday 17 May 1pm

As well as the new hub being introduced to this year’s conference, there will also be focused speakers and panels on the main stages to discuss the topic in depth.

What they said

Joe Stather, VP market lead, operational real estate at Questex, said: “Certainly with the cost-of-living crisis being felt by all, the industry may have to be bold in order to take advantage of the opportunities presented. However, a focus on longer term ESG plans needs to be had, to enable progress and the legacy of hotel groups to be protected, as the world works towards a more sustainable future.”
