Digital hospitality platform NUMA raises $59m to fund expansion

Numa Group has secured $59 million in funding to further develop its technology and expand its digital hospitality platform across Europe.

The company will use the money raised in the Series C funding round led by Verlinvest to improve Numa - its platform which offers a fully digitized service that helps to optimise hotel operating processes – and to fund its European growth plans.

Founded in 2019 in Berlin, Numa recently reached €1.5 billion in real estate AUM and has over 4,500 rooms and apartments across 28 major European cities including Berlin, Munich, Rome, Milan, Barcelona, and Paris.

Other investors in the round included Cape Capital, Headline, Cherry Ventures, DN Capital, and Soravia.

What they said

Christian Gaiser, CEO and co-founder of Numa said: When it comes to digitizing and enhancing the entire travel experience, we've only scratched the surface. Our aim is to create a better connection between our guests and the cities they visit. Thanks to the additional financial firepower, we can accelerate the development of our market-leading proprietary technology and at the same time present a strong balance sheet. We look forward to unlocking more top-notch locations across Europe together with our property and financing partners – and most importantly, with our guests.”

Verlinvest managing director Raphael Thiolon added: “In recent years, traditional hotel chains have struggled to meet the demands of an increasingly digital-savvy and restless consumer world, and at the same time, traditional hotels have been hampered by outdated backend infrastructures, large franchise networks, and a sluggish corporate culture. Numa offers a holistic solution to these problems and fits perfectly into our strategy, which aims to support ambitious, technology-driven companies whose passion is to offer their guests unique consumer experiences.”
