Hyatt inks deal for new luxury hotel in Seville

A Hyatt affiliate has inked a deal with Hoteles Color Especial to open a Thompson Hotel in Seville in Spain.

Scheduled to open in 2026, the 100-room luxury lifestyle hotel - comprising a restaurant, a rooftop bar with a pool, meeting rooms, coworking space and a gym - is located in a former police station between Plaza de la Concordia and Plaza de Gavidia. It is owned by Exacorp One, who also own the Hyatt Centric Gran Vía which opened in 2017 and the Thompson Madrid which opened in 2022.

Thompson Hotel Seville will be the first Hyatt hotel in Seville and the fourth Thompson Hotels property in Europe, joining Thompson Madrid, Thompson Rome which is expected to open mid-2024 and Thompson Vienna which is slated to join the Hyatt portfolio in 2025.

Why it matters

The expansion of the Thompson Hotels brand is reflective of Hyatt’s brand growth in Spain, with the company’s Spanish portfolio spanning 11 different brands. With 18 Thompson Hotels currently open across 16 cities globally, plans for Thompson Seville continues Hyatt’s growth momentum across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
