Iconic Brussels hotel finds new owner

US private equity firm Lone Star has reportedly bought the company behind the landmark Hotel Métropole in Brussels.

Various sources suggest it has agreed a deal to buy the property from the owning Bervoets family for an undisclosed sum.

The Bervoets family took full control of the property in 2017, buying the shares held by the founding Wielemans family and valuing the property at just over $52 million, according to MSCI Real Capital Analytics.

The hotel has been closed since April 2020. French management company Centaurus Hospitality Management has been tapped to run the property.
