Colliers Spain restructures leadership

Colliers has restructured its management team in Spain.

Mikel Echavarren, CEO of Colliers in Spain and Portugal, has expanded his role by assuming the position of president of the Iberia region and Joan Garcia takes over the general management.

At the same time, Miguel Vázquez, managing partner specialising in the hotel industry, and Ignacio Iturriaga, managing partner and expert in corporate finance, are both leaving the management of the firm, but will continue as members of the advisory board.

What they said

Mikel Echavarren, CEO of Colliers in Spain and Portugal: "Miguel and Ignacio have been key members of the business that we started together more than 20 years ago. We are extremely grateful to both for the expertise they have given to Colliers in Spain and wish them all the best in the future. Through their professional excellence they have developed extraordinary teams which are now led by Laura Hernando in the Hotels business line and Miguel Martinez in Debt Advisory respectively.”

Joan García, managing partner at Colliers, said: “The succession of Laura Hernando and Miguel Martinez has been planned for some time. Since 2018, when we merged the Irea and Colliers teams in Spain, our company has not stopped growing, expanding its geographical presence by opening offices in the main real estate markets and starting operations in Portugal.
