Hotels take time to build. A lengthy amount of time. As much or more than three years. Within that time, many things can happen to derail the project or add a layer of complication—affecting construction budgets and giving developers fits.
As further global expansion is projected in 2021, Hilton has highlighted two areas that contributed positively to its performance: the increased conversion of non-Hilton properties and the role of extended-stay brands in drive-to markets.
Private equity company Peakside Capital Advisors has raised €160 million in equity from institutional investors and family offices across Europe. The fund will focus on investment in German real estate and may look at hotel properties, but with a look to conversion.
